At the beginning of 2022 Covid restrictions in Scotland were still in place but then they gradually began to ease and by April 16th the date of the annual charity Foulis Castle Daffodil Tea (which had not been held since 2019) the general public felt free enough to attend. The Spring was mild, and the beautiful daffodils were at their peak on the day of the event. This year we held the Tea in aid of the British Red Cross Ukraine Fund for the Disasters Emergency Committee. People arrived in their throngs. In partnership with the Red Cross we managed to persuade 30 stalls, a Traditional Music group, Highland dancers, storytellers, and a huge bouncy castle to attend along with supplying the usual teas. The relief of the lifting of Covid restrictions and the public sympathy with the plight of Ukraine brought in over 1,000 people and raised over £7,000. There were queues all the way to Evanton.
