I am looking for information about my grandmother Margaret Munro. According to her marriage and death certificates her parents were Thomas Munro who was a sergeant in the Cameron Highlanders and Margaret Munro nee Noble. She married my grandfather Henry Ernest Wilson in Edinburgh in 1910 age 21. I can't find any record of her before 1910. Census record states her place of birth as Inverness.

My Father, John Munro, traced his ancestry back through a whole series of John Munro's to John Munro born 13 Jan 1790 Recoiraich, Rosskeen. He married Catherine Logan, daughter of James Logan and Mary Ross. Their children were Findlay (1810-1880), Jean born 13 May 1816, Robert born 15 Sept 1818, Mary born 7 June 1820, Catherine born 12 Mar 1822, Johanna born 12 Mar 1822 and John born 28 Mar 1824.  His parents were apparently John and Janet Munro probably both from Ross-shire but I have very little information about them. Does this connect to anyone else's family tree? I would love to take the record back further. Also does anyknow where Recoirach, Rosskeen, Ross-shire is?

I am hoping you may be able to confirm that my GGGG grandmother, Christiana (Christy) Munro (b 1816) is from Rosskeen.

She married Edward Everson (a convict) from Eye County, Suffolk. They both died in Australia.

The only other details I have are that Christiana's father was John Munro, b abt 1781 in Rosskeen, who married a Margaret Campbell (b 1792). I can not verify that, though.

I am researching the Munro side of my family.  My 3 x great grandparents were Robert and Margaret Munro (nee Fraser) and they were tenants at Culnaskia, near Foulis Castle.  So far traced they had two surviving sons - Donald born 30th December 1803 and my 2 x great grandfather Alexander baptised on 22nd April 1807.  He emigrated to Collooney, Co. Sligo, Ireland where he married Helen Moreland.  They had six children, the eldest son was James born 1st July 1841 and he emigrated to USA in about 1870, eventually living at Oakland, San Francisco, where it is thought his descendants still live.  Their surviving children were James Alexander (26.12.1869 - 30.7.1934), Annie Ross (3.10.1871 - 16.9.1962, married name Trower, Helen Moreland (15.7.1874 - 7.5.1945, married name Marolf and Maud E (3.6.1894 - 5.12.1949, married names Petersen, then Schnohr.  Any knowledge of these persons, would be very helpful.
